DMG Advocates is pleased to announce that Max Libman has joined us as an associate, practicing corporate commercial litigation.
Prior to joining DMG Advocates in 2021, Max worked as a staff lawyer for the Ontario Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission. Max helped the Commission investigate and assess the response of various parties – including the province of Ontario and its long-term care providers – to the spread of COVID-19 in Ontario’s long-term care homes.
From 2018-2020, Max served as a staff lawyer for the Collingwood Judicial Inquiry. The Inquiry examined and evaluated the processes used by the Town of Collingwood to both sell a major Town asset and procure new facilities.
As an articling student with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office – Civil, Max worked in a number of litigation areas including: aboriginal law, personal injury law, class proceedings and judicial review applications. Prior to his articling experience, Max worked as a summer student at the Kenora district office of Legal Aid Ontario.
Max is a graduate of the McGill University Faculty of Law and holds degrees in both civil law and common law. While in law school, he was a member of McGill’s delegation to the Winkler Class Actions Moot and volunteered at the McGill Legal Information Clinic. In his final year at McGill, Max served as a teaching assistant and course leader for the faculty’s Legal Ethics and Advocacy course.
