Blaney McMurtry Welcomes New Partner, Divya Shahani

Blaney McMurtry is pleased to announce that Divya Shahani has joined the firm with broad expertise in Entertainment Law, Sports Law, Corporate Finance & Securities and Corporate & Commercial Law.

Divya is a partner in the entertainment, media and sports law group, and practices entertainment, corporate, commercial, financial services and intellectual property law. She represents film, television and commercial producers, institutional lenders, private financiers, distributors, media and technology start-ups, influencers, content creators, talent, athletes, music artists, talent agencies, management companies, hospitality groups and live entertainment companies.

Divya has been a practicing entertainment lawyer since 2014. She has also executive produced various productions, and accordingly, her legal advice to her entertainment clients is informed by industry knowledge, business strategy and pragmatism. Prior to joining Blaney McMurtry, Divya practiced at a full-service Bay Street firm and prominent entertainment boutique firm.

She is bilingual and practices law in English and French. She is particularly passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry and has sat on various boards and advisory committees.
